Lady Wolves take on Bulldogs and Buffalo

On Friday, the Moorcroft Lady Wolves took on a familiar opponent when the Lady Bulldogs from Sundance came to town. The Lady Wolves got off to an early 25 to 12 halftime lead.

Sundance came back in the third quarter, outscoring the Wolves, 16-5 and Moorcroft held a 30-28 lead going into the fourth quarter.

The last quarter was back and forth with neither team able to pull ahead until the end. The Lady Wolves hit some timely baskets and free throws to secure the 42-36 victory.

Playing a rival opponent is always a tough task. We struggled both offensively and defensively in the third quarter, but were able to bounce back and regain our composure in the fourth quarter.

I thought the girls really did a good job of battling through our struggles in the second half.

Saturday's game pitted the Lady Wolves against the Bison from Buffalo. This is the first time the Wolves have seen Buffalo.

We knew going in that they were a quick team who played a lot of girls. Buffalo got off to a quick start and didn't look back, winning the game, 66-26.

They really attacked us right from the start and we just couldn't get our footing. We had times when we looked good offensively and then gave up some baskets on the defensive end.

We have things that we need to get better at and this team is committed to doing that. We will continue to work hard regardless of the outcome and will bounce back.

The Lady Wolves travel to Hulett on Friday for a 5 p.m. tipoff followed by the boys'game at 6:30 p.m. Come out and support your Moorcroft Wolves!
