Pine Haven moves ahead with business park plan

With the anticipated release of the Keyhole Ranch assets from probate after the death of owner Skip Waters, son Vince will soon be able to move forward with a plan that his father had already begun to implement alongside the Town of Pine Haven.

The intent of this plan is to provide space that will allow for a business park north of Paradise Foods on the south end of town, on the east side of Pine Haven Road.

Now, it's just a case of waiting for the details to be formalized.

According to Mayor Karla Brandenburg, “[Waters] has to get the official notice that [probate] is settled and when he gets that, he’ll notify town hall and he would like to be put on the agenda for our March work shop.”

Vince plans to bring to the table plans for the division of lots and infrastructure as well as the new fire hall, Brandenburg said.

An important part of the original plans set in place with Skip was a road that will allow for a second egress through the area from Vista Grande Drive to Pine Haven Road, relieving possible congestion and allowing a second road in case of fire.

However, with large work trucks carrying debris this last summer along Vista Grand, the mayor explained to Waters another problem emerging: damage to the asphalt.

“We needed a road that the drivers could take instead of our paved road,” she said.

Waters alluded to an easement he has ready to be employed that will alleviate the situation. Brandenburg said of her discussion with the land owner.

“He sounds like he has most everything set and good to go. He’s just waiting for probate to be done," the mayor said.
