Bulldogs beat Wolves by the skin of their teeth

On Friday night, the Lady Wolves welcomed the Lady Bulldogs from Wheatland for the last game of the regular season. We knew going in that it was going to be a competitive game.

The game got off to a good start with neither team able to pull away and both teams were tied going into the half. I was pleased with where we were going into the half.

It was really a defensive battle in the first half and that continued into the second half. Moorcroft found themselves down six points with 3:00 minutes left to go in the game.

We got some stops late in the game and were able to take a lead. Wheatland scored on the final possession for a 43-42 victory.

Unfortunately, the game didn't end the way we wanted it to, especially for how hard we had to work to come back. I was proud of our effort and what we were able to do offensively. Our focus continues to be on the defensive end and making sure we do the little things it takes to win.

The Lady Wolves head into Regionals this week where they will again play the Wheatland Lady Bulldogs at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 2 in Torrington. We have some adjustments to make from this game and the post season is always an exciting time of the year.

Come out and support your Moorcroft Wolves!
