New deputy clerk joins team

Sondii Boggess has faced her first month as Pine Haven’s deputy clerk, finishing the new look of the clerk’s office at town hall.

Boggess has lived in the Pine Haven area since 2016 and recently began seeking a job closer to her home, east of town. She smiles, “I wasn’t necessarily looking for this avenue, but it came up and it’s something different so I applied and here I am.”

The deputy clerk does not as yet feel the fit of the position as she has not previously worked a great deal in an office setting, having worked predominantly in retail and management.

“I’m more a physical person than a sit-at-a-desk person,” she says.

That change of pace, among other aspects of working for the town, was still a bit overwhelming in the first few weeks. She describes the learning curve as, “A little confusing and rattling, but it gets me out of my comfort zone – way out! It’s challenging, exciting and frustrating at the same time.”

Boggess, though is undeterred; she looks forward to the time when she knows what she’s doing and can do it well.
