Jubilee Days are here again

Moorcroft’s Jubilee Days are coming soon! The Moorcroft Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) has been working hard all year to bring a few new ideas and a few old favorites to the 58th annual Jubilee and everyone’s invited to come have fun.

July 6

There is something for the whole family at Thursday’s Family Fun Night, at Robinson Park. Kids are invited to play on the Adventure Zone Inflatable Carnival; with ten wet and dry giant toys, the youngsters will have a blast and adults will have a good time visiting with friends and listening to the live music as everyone works up an appetite for the tasty food available from numerous vendors as they enjoy the summer evening.

July 7

Guests are invited to return to Robinson Park to enjoy more fun time on the inflatables around noon on Friday. Kids and adults alike will enjoy looking over the Classic Car and Shine Show as well as a vendor show at 5 p.m.

For those seeking a bit more adventure, head over to the Ranch Rodeo. Seating starts at 5 p.m., at the Moorcroft Rodeo Grounds, hosted by the Moorcroft Rodeo Club. The entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with Mutton Bustin’, Bronk Match and the Calcutta and the rodeo will follow.

Adult entertainment continues at Dewey’s Place with live music at 9 p.m.

July 8

Saturday starts with a Prayer for America around the flagpole on the south end of Big Horn Avenue, at 6:30 a.m. Monte Reichenberg is the man to whom any enquiries should be addressed at 217-251-1182.

From 7-9 a.m., everyone is invited to a free Chuckwagon Breakfast, in front of the West Texas Trail Museum. Contact Cindy Mosteller for details at 307-756-9300.

At 7:30 a.m., those with an athletic bent or anyone just wanting to have fun is invited to join the MHS National Honor Society in the 5K Color Walk/Run at Robinson Park. Address questions to Deb Harrison at 605-280-0957.

After everyone gets in line, the Saturday morning parade starts at 10 a.m., slowly progressing down Big Horn Avenue amongst hundreds of onlookers and serious juvenile candy catchers. Krissy Hinkhouse will answer any questions, at 307-629-1264.

From 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., there will be a volleyball tournament at Robinson Park. Teams start with sixth grade up to adult. Call Katie Williams at 307-254-0404 for entry fees, etc. Registration is due by July 8.

Adventure Inflatables continue at Robinson Park from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.

A cornhole tournament begins at 11:30 a.m. and will run until 4 p.m. with cash prizes. Contact Tucker Allison for details at 307-756-2118.

The Moorcroft Fire Hall is the place to be for a community barbecue, also at 11:30 a.m., hosted by the Moorcroft Volunteer Fire Department. Kelli Donahue, 307-756-2816, for information.

Stay a while after the meal to participate in the auction, at noon, with well-known auctioneer Chuck Wood presiding. Call Charlene Huckins, 307-761-2700 with any questions.

From noon until 5 p.m., Robinson Park is the place to find live music with local musicians, a vendor show and an ice cream social, which is hosted by AL Auxiliaries – all for free. Anyone interested in participating in the music or the show, please contact Charlene Huckins or Susan Millard respectively.

The Moorcroft Rodeo Club will be hosting the Riverside Bronc Ride, at 3 p.m., at the Moorcroft Rodeo Grounds. Dusty Thomas will be happy to answer enquiries at 307-756-2133.

Guests are invited to participate in the legendary bed races on South Big Horn Avenue, at 7 p.m. or, if that isn’t wild enough, folks may sign up for goat roping, sponsored by MJ Productions, at Dewey’s Place, also at 7. Call MJ Productions at 307-340-0029 for more information.

As the little ones head home for bed after an exciting day, the adults get ready for the street dance, starting at 8:30 p.m. on South Big horn Avenue. Rock to the tunes of “He Said She Said”, presented by Colt 45.

July 9

At 9 a.m., on Sunday, the last day of Jubilee, MACC introduces a three-man tournament at Keyhole Country Club. Those who want to register may do so by calling Andy Fraser at 307-391-0462 or Keyhole Country Club at 307-756-3775.

A Community Worship Potluck will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Robinson Park with a worship concert to follow, hosted by the Moorcroft Interfaith Community. Anyone wanting more information is welcome to call Monte Reichenberg at 217-251-1182 or Randy Blakeman at 307-756-2066.

The weekend celebration ends with a Slip and Slide Kickball and Fun Day, starting at 1 p.m., at the baseball field in Westview Park. The event is hosted by Moorcroft Baseball and anyone interested in entry fees for the Red Ball Challenge, kickball teams or the dunk tank are encouraged to contact Courtney Reynolds at 307-756-2079.
