Crook County residents are invited to the Pine Haven Community Center next week, on Wednesday, August 23, at 10 a.m. for a morning of a multi-faceted presentation of programs and services available for seniors countywide.

This production will be provided by Tobey Morgan, program executive director of Crook County Senior Services and Crook County Public Health Community Prevention Specialist Katie Allen.

The services to be discussed include transportation; home delivered meals and meals available at senior centers; homemaking; caregiver services; activities; seniors and mental health issues and available training courses open to the public specific to mental health and suicide; discussion of tobacco and marijuana devices (vapes) for interactions with kids or grandkids.

There will be handouts; wyoquit boxes (to help quit smoking); medication disposal bags; gun trigger locks; pill bottles that can be personalized; and some other take-home goodies.

The Over the Hill Gang is hosting the program as well as the lunch afterward, which will include ham and cheese sandwiches, chips, cookies, water and coffee.

This presentation is open to seniors, their family and friends and anyone who may know of someone who cannot attend, but could use the information and help.
