Donnie Jean Lampman

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mother, Donnie Jean Lampman, on Saturday, September 2, 2023. She passed away in Englewood, Colorado at Swedish Medical of congestive heart failure. 

Donnie was born in Riverton, Wyoming on November 9, 1950 to Darrell Don Lampman and Aletha DeVerel Lampman (Clemons). She had two older sisters Linda Lee (Perry) and Judy Smith (Henry) and two younger brothers Glen Lampman and Larry Lampman (Lucilla).

Her family lived in Sand Draw, Glenrock, Bairoil and Moorcroft where she graduated high school in 1969 and resided until 2010 when she moved to Gillette. While living in Moorcroft, Donnie welcomed her two children Jason Ike (Melissa) and Cary Ritterhouse (Guy).

She worked at Moorcroft Elementary School as a much-loved paraprofessional and crossing guard. She retired in 2010. In 2009, she welcomed her only grandchild, James Ike. 

Donnie was known for her warm heart, joyful spirit and unforgettable smile. Through the years she made many close friends she considered family and was loved by many.

Donnie loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved listening to and singing hymns. She also enjoyed a warm cup of tea, tending to her flowers and plants, feeding the birds and spending time with her family and friends. During retirement, ceramics had become a favorite hobby. 

Donnie is survived by her sisters, Linda Lee (Perry), Judy Smith; her brother, Larry Lampman (Lucilla); her son, Jason Ike (Melissa); her daughter, Cary Ritterhouse (Guy); her grandson, James Ike; and her numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, Darrell Don Lampman, Aletha DeVerel Lampman; her brother, Glen Lampman; brother-in-law, Henry Smith; and niece, Carla Bennett Holmes preceded her in death. 

A celebration of life will be held at the Church of Christ, 1204 T7 Lane, Gillette, Wyoming 82716 on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11 a.m. Honorary pall bearers are Larry Lampman, Jason Ike, Guy Ritterhouse, James Ike, Justin Kobielusz, Fred Neugebauer and Dave Nevans. Donations in memory of Donnie Jean Lampman can be made to The Church of Christ in Gillette, Wyoming.
