Wolves take on some tough competition

The Wolves wrestling teams had yet another busy weekend of tough competition competing in the Pat Weede duals on Friday and Saturday, the girls in the Pat Weede tournament and the team split on Saturday for the Wright duals.

For the Pat Weede duals, the team went 4-4, wrestling some tough teams from Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Individual dual results were:

Moorcroft vs. Star Valley - 32-43

Moorcroft vs. Campbell County - 48-19

Moorcroft vs. Sidney - 42-30

Moorcroft vs. Bismark Century - 45-33

Moorcroft vs. Powell - 39-36

Moorcroft vs. Dickinson - 27-48

Moorcroft vs. Rapid City Central - 33-45

These duals put them in the placing rounds where they wrestled Powell again and won with a score of 41-33.

In individual results from the duals, Braydnn Terry placed third for the most tech falls in the least amount of time with two in 8:12 and second for having the most single match points with 18; Wyatt Allred placed fifth for the fastest pin in :15; and Dayne Humes won the over all wrestler in the 120 weight class, going 7-1 in the duals.

For the girl's tournament at the Pat Weede, individual placers were:

Second place - Krizma Delfino

Fourth place - Tessa Farnsworth

Fifth place - Olivia Sundstrom and Kaylee Buckner

On Saturday, the team split and competed in the Christmas duals in Wright. There, the team went 3-2, placing third.

Dual results were:

Moorcroft vs. Thunder Basin - 47-30

Moorcroft vs. Kelly Walsh JV - 48-32

Moorcroft vs. Lusk - 58-18

Moorcroft vs. Thunder Basin JV - 33-37

Belle Fourche defeated Moorcroft

In individual results, Riley DeHaven and Trenten Gray both went undefeated in the duals, going 5-0.

Next up for the Wolves is the Hettinger Classic tournament in Hettinger, ND. January 5-6.
