Boys' basketball going in the right direction

The Moorcroft Wolves boys' basketball team put on a good showing against Newcastle and Glenrock, according to Coach Nick Redden, and is working to meet the challenges ahead of them.

"Newcastle and Glenrock are two very well-coached teams with good players, top to bottom. We gave the best we had, but at any point in the season, you have to find that right chemistry," he says.

"We have some injuries we're dealing with, but it doesn't take away from the fact that every player is literally giving everything they've got."

The team needs to look at some things to improve performance, Redden says. Both scores were a little lopsided in favor of the opponent, but, "It's still early in the season and it's not done yet."

"Jaxson Nobles has really come out of his shell these last two games and is doing a nice job for us; Chaz Dewey has been solid every game and we've got a couple freshmen who have really stepped into some difficult roles and have responded very well," he says.

"Junior Varsity did a great job versus Newcastle. They ran into a little bit of trouble against Glenrock, but top to bottom, we're going in the right direction."

In a close finish, Moorcroft lost to Glenrock 36-38. Score for the Newcastle game was not available at press time.
