Adding a touch of shine

Galvanized steel light poles were recently deposited near their seemingly intact counterparts throughout Crook County. These new poles are actually shorter and have a larger, stronger body to replace the poles that have proven too fragile to withstand Wyoming wind when combined with spring rain, snow and sleet. WYDOT District 4 traffic engineer Michelle Edwards explains that the weight of this combination was enough to fell some of the lighter poles in the southern part of the state, thus contracts are being let for bid by district for statewide completion of this task within three to four years. The rest area east of Moorcroft has already been completed.
