The Voice of the Community Since 1909, Serving Moorcroft and Pine Haven, Wyoming

What's Happening at the Moorcroft Branch Library

We will be hosting a three part Pie and Planning series about life and death matters, coordinated by Vicki Kissack, Advance Funeral Planner for Gillette Memorial Services. Stop in for any or all of the sessions that you are interested in.

Tuesday, May 7, at 1 p.m. - Write Your Own Story Rita Mashak, funeral director for Gillette Memorial Services, will lead a session on writing an obituary.  Participants will begin writing their own obituary.  Pie provided by Moorcroft Branch Library and Donna’s Diner.

Tuesday, May 14, at 1 p.m. - A More Meaningful Service Vicki Kissack, advance funeral planner for Gillette Memorial Services, will provide information about cremation versus burial and answer the questions you have been too afraid to ask. She will offer advice on pre planning memorial services.  Pie provided by Moorcroft Branch Library staff.

Tuesday, May 21, at 1 p.m. - Finish Your Thoughts Richard Erb, P.C. attorney and counselor at law will discuss completing and preserving essential documents.  Attendees will also learn about Advance Directives, Release of Information versus Power of Attorney and final wishes planning. Pie provided by Vicki Kissack.

The Circle of Light Photo Project will be on display May 6-24 at the library. This collection of photographs was taken by people who have received corneal transplants to restore their sight.

As part of our commitment to promote a strong healthy community, we have partnered with Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank to share this exhibit in an effort to educate the public about the impact of eye donation in Colorado and Wyoming.

Stop by and check out our new ‘Serve Yourself Shelf’ which includes craft kits, puzzles, board games and so much more.  Call (307) 756-3232 for more information or to make reservations for upcoming events.
