Patch work

When Moorcroft's Public Works Director Cory Allison and his crew noticed a loss of pressure in the Madison water line Wednesday morning, crewmen traveled along the pipeline and soon discovered water on the ground about halfway between town and the Madison well, east of Wind Creek Road, indicating a leak in the line.

Allison called Travis Dewey, owner of Tri-City Excavation Inc. in Carlile, WY.

"They dug it up and figured out what was wrong Wednesday afternoon and we had it going by noon on Thursday," Allison says.

Three Tri-City crewmen worked with two of Moorcroft's public workmen shutting lines off.

"[It] ended up being a rock that wore a hole in the 16-inch water line about halfway between town and the well," Allison explains.

He was happy to report that there was no interruption to the town's water use.

"We didn't have to shut the town off because we still had our town wells to feed the rest of town," he says.

The director was glad the problem was quickly found and fixed without issue to residents.
