Moorcroft Police Report

August 26 - September 1

On August 30, police were contacted in reference to an attempted break-in at a local business. Investigation is continuing.

On August 30, police were notified of suspicious activity at the West Texas Trails Museum. Officer arrived at the museum and did a walkthrough. Officer spoke with the complainant and advised all was well. Nothing further.

On August 31, police were requested by Wyoming Highway Patrol to go to I-90 eastbound, mile marker 151 to remove tire debris from the roadway. Officer assisted.

On August 31, police were notified of a traffic complaint, possible impaired driver. Officer was able to make contact with the driver of the vehicle at Coffee Cup. Officer spoke with the driver and the driver was not impaired.

On September 1, police assisted Moorcroft Ambulance Service on an emergency call.

On September 1, police were called to a residence for a man who needed to speak with law enforcement. Officers went to the residence and spoke with the man about the issues he was having. Nothing further.

On September 1, police received a report of shots fired in the area of North Powder River. Officers responded to the area and spoke with a couple of people who had heard the sounds of gunshots. Officers searched the area for any suspicious activity or other sounds of disturbance. No other calls came in and officers were unable to locate any signs of disturbance.
