Spring Fling to Fall Hau

Moorcroft’s Spring Clean has been postponed until later in the year and will be called the Fall Haul with the date to be announced closer to the time.

Co-organizer Elaine Buckmiller said that the chamber plans to make the same arrangements with the town for dump days and will have the other systems in place to pick up used fuel, metal and batteries. The issue facing the group will be, according to Buckmiller, volunteers, many of whom have, in the past, been teenagers allowed to donate their time from school to pick up the detritus of garbage from the curbs.

With the shorter weeks, the school no longer is as willing to release kids for the day, so while the chamber may be able to get help from the student organizations within the schools come fall, they welcome anyone wanting to volunteer their time and energy for the day. Just talk to any of the chamber members about volunteering for the Fall Haul.

Buckmiller assures residents that the event has not been cancelled, only postponed. “We think the event makes a difference in the presentation of our town. The chamber’s disappointed that we can’t have it, but we’re going to hold off until the fall and see if we can make it work.”

Pine Haven

Pine Haven plans to go ahead with their clean up days of May 2 through 9. Pine Haven clerk Marilyn Jensen said of the town’s choice to continue, “It’s all open air.” The dumpsters will be at the town’s maintenance shop and citizens are encourage to conduct the clean up as they have in past years while respecting the six foot social distancing.

A crew from the Wyoming Honor Farm will be onsite along county road 113 on May 5-7 to clean debris from the roadway.
