Patrick Carpenter hired as town attorney

Long-time Moorcroft Town attorney Jim Peck officially resigned from his position as of May 26 via letter at last Tuesday night’s council meeting, saying, “It’s been a wild ride over the years and, at times, a bit stressful, but I’ve enjoyed serving as the town’s attorney for the past 22 years.”

Having been notified of Peck’s intent a couple of months previously, the governing body has been searching for a lawyer with the requisite knowledge and experience dealing in municipal law. They have hired the firm of Stevenson, Edwards, Hallock and Carpenter of Gillette and will be working directly with Patrick Carpenter, who also has represented Pine Haven for many years.

Carpenter will attend the June 8 meeting at 6:30 p.m. to be formally introduced to council and guests.
