Tipping fees increase

For everyone hauling garbage to the Moorcroft Landfill, the Moorcroft Town Council has amended the resolution regarding the landfill tipping fees. The fees for non-municipal residents have been raised from $60 to $73.

This increase is in response to the eventual cost of closure. Councilman Owen Mathews voted “Aye” with reservation.

“I don’t like it, but I think that where we’re going… we have to start doing something because we have to build closure. We’re going to be on our fifth expansion down the road and nothing is happening,” he said.

This fee hike does not affect Western Waste or municipal residents and goes into effect July 1.
