Moorcroft Police Report

August 31 - September 6

On August 31, police were contacted to assist in getting a call trap placed on a phone line for someone who was being harassed via their home phone. Officer assisted in getting the information to the phone company so they could do the trap. Nothing further at this time.

On August 31, police were contacted regarding a barking dog complaint at Centennial Apartments. Officer was able to make contact with the owner who stated they would keep the dogs from barking. Officer advised further problems would result in a citation. Officer cleared.

On September 1, police received a complaint regarding about dogs running at large and acting aggressively. Officer made contact with the owner of the animal and advised them of the complaint. Officer also advised them to keep their animals contained to their property and to obtain town licenses for their animals. Officer cleared.

On September 4, police received a welfare check from Moorcroft High School in reference to a student who has not been coming to school. Officer was able to contact the student who is signed up for online classes. Nothing further.

On September 4, while assisting Moorcroft EMS on a medical call for an elderly female who had fallen, police investigation determined signs of elder abuse by her male caretaker. Caretaker was arrested for Abuse, Neglect, Abandonment, Intimidation or Exploitation of a vulnerable adult and for Adult Protective Services Act and he was transported to Crook County Detention Center.
