Moorcroft Police Report

March 22 - April 11

On March 23, police were contacted by someone who was getting threats via their cell phone. Officer spoke with the victim and explained to them how to stop being contacted via phone. Officer attempted to make contact with the person making the calls but was hung up on.

On March 25, a male contacted the police department because he felt he was the victim of a scammer. Investigation is continuing.

On March 27, police were called to a residence due to a disturbance. Officer made contact with the residents of the home, who stated there had been yelling and disagreements between them. They all agreed to calm down and go to bed. Nothing further.

On March 29, police took information in reference to possible child endangerment and/or child extortion. Investigation is ongoing.

On March 30, police were contacted about a male who was at the MTC that was not supposed to be there due to a trespassing notice. Officer made contact with the male who was not in violation of the trespassing notice. Nothing further.

On March 31, police assisted Moorcroft EMS on an emergency call.

On April 3, police stood by during a civil issue.

On April 3, police assisted Moorcroft EMS on an emergency call.

On April 3, police conducted a civil standby during a child custody exchange.

On April 5, police received a report of a stolen dirt bike. Bike was entered into NCIC as stolen.

On April 5, police were contacted regarding harassing messages. Officer spoke with the complainant and explained to them what to do to keep the person from contacting them. Nothing further at this time.

On April 5, police received a report of a stolen generator.

On April 7, police gave emergency fund assistance to a traveler in need.

On April 9, police were contacted by a resident who stated they thought they needed help. Officers arrived at the home and spoke with the resident who then stated they were fine. Officers confirmed that the resident’s welfare was good. Nothing further.
