Moorcroft fine art students place at state art symposium

Congratulations to the MHS Fine Art Students for a job well done this year! This year at the 53rd Wyoming State Art Symposium we had five blue ribbon winners.

The blue ribbon signifies that the student’s work has been judged and it is in the top 30% of the work exhibited from across the great state of Wyoming. MHS blue ribbon winners are seniors Shania Miller, Teagan Timberman and Nicole Queen-Wineteer. Sophomore Kailee Gill and Freshman Eli Bellikka also brought home a blue ribbon.

Moorcroft also took first place in the newspaper fashion show and third place in spontaneous sculpture competitions.

The kids were able to meet with artists from the junior colleges from around the state as well as the University of Wyoming, network with other students from around the state and observe over 2600 pieces of impressive artwork created by students from all across the state. Attendees were also lucky enough to get to chat with Mrs. Jillian Balow, the Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Mrs. Jennie Gordon, the First Lady of Wyoming.
