Friday night lights in Greybull

On September 3, the Moorcroft Wolves traveled to Greybull to play under the Friday night lights.

The game started slow for Moorcroft as turnovers halted their drives. This benefitted the Buffs as they scored several times in the first quarter to make the score 20-0. However, the Buffs would only score one more time in the second quarter before being shut out for the remainder of the game.

The Wolves’ offense found life and initiated a ferocious comeback. With minutes remaining in the final quarter of the game, Moorcroft was within yards from getting the go-ahead touchdown.

Unfortunately, their efforts fell short despite a great comeback and the Greybull Buffs won, 26-20.

Randy Peters scored on a couple of touchdown runs and Zane Linder ran one in, too. Linder also led the team with 118 rushing yards and 94 passing yards.

Peters chipped in with 67 rushing yards and 15 receiving yards. Kyler Smith was the leading pass catcher with six catches for 74 yards. Defensively, Oliver Gorsuch had 15 tackles and James Long had 11 tackles to lead the Wolves.

Moorcroft will host Saratoga on Friday at 2 p.m.
