  • Hornets sting Wolves as season ends

    The Moorcroft Wolves wrapped up their football season when they traveled down to Pine Bluffs on Friday night to battle the Hornets. The Hornets are one of the best teams in the state and they proved it. The Wolves were able to move the ball on a few drives but could not get into the end zone and, ultimately, fell by a score of 66-0. Senior quarterback Zane Linder led the team with 83 passing yards and 39 rushing yards and fellow senior Randy Peters chipped in with 21 rushing yards and seven receiving yards.   • Lingle take down Wolves

    On Friday night, the Moorcroft Wolves traveled to Lingle to battle Lingle-Ft. Laramie on the gridiron. It was a beautiful evening for a football game. The Wolves struggled right out of the gate by allowing Lingle to run the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. That swung all the momentum towards Lingle and they didn’t let off the gas.   • Cyclones storm Wolves

    On Friday night, the Moorcroft Wolves hosted the Cyclones of Southeast. The game got off to a hot start as both teams scored on the first couple of plays on their respective drives. Southeast got the ball first and ran a 70-yard touchdown to the house to make it 8-0 to start the game off.   • Wolves lose to Panthers

    On Friday night, the Moorcroft Wolves hosted the Wright Panthers on homecoming night. The hometown crowd came ready to cheer on the Wolves! Unfortunately, Moorcroft was slow out of the gate and allowed 21 first quarter points. The Wolves kept the Panthers in check after that, but could only manage six points the remainder of the game and ended the game with a final of 21-6 Wright Panthers over Moorcroft.   • Wolves fall to Tigers

    On Friday night, the Moorcroft Wolves voyaged south to Niobrara County to battle the Tigers of Lusk. It was difficult for the Wolves to get a complete drive going as they would move the ball but couldn’t quite finish off the drive. They struggled with turnovers and had a hard time stopping Lusk, ultimately falling 50-6. The lone touchdown came on a Zane Linder-Kyler Smith connection in the second half of the ball game.   • Wolves host Saratoga

    On Friday afternoon, the Moorcroft Wolves hosted Saratoga. Saratoga got off to a hot start and got up 19-0 before halftime. A long touchdown run by Zane Linder got the Wolves on the board going into the half 19-6. They struggled scoring the ball in the second half and could not convert turnovers like they did the first half. Saratoga put a few more scores on and won the game 34-6.     On September 3, the Moorcroft Wolves traveled to Greybull to play under the Friday night lights. The game started slow for Moorcroft as turnovers halted their drives. This benefitted the Buffs as they scored several times in the first quarter to make the score 20-0. However, the Buffs would only score one more time in the second quarter before being shut out for the remainder of the game. The Wolves’ offense found life and initiated a ferocious comeback.
