Full speed ahead for C Bar Subdivision

Property owners Greg Cottrell and Robert Chamberlin, development engineer Chris Lovas of Lovas Engineering and realtor Pat Avery met with Pine Haven’s planning and zoning committee last week to present and discuss the preliminary plat of the C Bar Subdivision as the group sets up the next step of the housing development.

During their examination, though, town engineer Heath Turbiville of HDR Engineering expressed concerns regarding certain aspects. However, according to committee chair Charlie Gully, “It sounds like most of those things are going to be easily fixed, based on the discussion we had earlier.”

After this meeting and the subsequent report to council, the group answered concerns from the fire department regarding the turning radius at subdivision street corners for fire trucks to maneuver and the distance between hydrants. Again, subdivision owners and engineer assured these first responders that both concerns will be addressed.

Pine Haven Mayor Karla Brandenburg later expressed her confidence in the process under the town’s recently updated subdivision ordinances as well as the experience of the C Bar representatives, saying, “We have found that the C Bar owners and engineers are experienced in creating new subdivisions in communities [and] it’s been great to work with them through this process.”

A public hearing will be held at Town Hall on Monday, May 9, at 5:30 p.m. for public questions and consideration.
