Wolves place at every meet

The Wolves Cross Country team has had a really good beginning to the season, which began on August 15.

The first meet of the season was the Newcastle Invite on the 25th. Middle School runners started their season strong. For the MS girls Morning Barnum (seventh) ran a season opener 3K of 15:56.28 and Carlee Roth placed third with the time of 12:46.28.

In the MS boys 3K, Kenny Blakeman (sixth) ran an 11:39.75; Mikhail Reich (seventh) placed nineth with a time of 11:49.84; and Ethan Walker (eighth) ran a 16:04.77. In the Varsity boys 5K race, Zack Lowrey ran a 32:17.36 and Marcus James placed fifth with a time of 19:43.28.

On the 26th, we went to Casper for the Beartrap Invite. In the Middle School races, Carlee placed third with a 12:46.49; Kenny ran a 19:57.05; and Mikhail ran a 14:48.01. In the Varsity races, Mallory Jones recovered from being sick and ran the 5K in 24:08.12; Marcus ran a 20:06.56; and Zack ran a 30:41.54.

The Varsity runners went to the Buffalo Invite on September 2 where Katelynn Blakeman ran well for her first meet with a time of 30:22.05; Mallory ran a 23:20.89; and Zack ran a 34:49.37 in the men's race.

On September 9, the Wolves went to run at the Big Horn Equestrian Invite. The Middle Schoolers ran well in a race with 142 girl runners and 150 boy runners.

In the girls' race, Morning Barnum got 94th with a time of 18:04.90 and Carlee Roth got 31st with a time of 14:38.50. In the boy's race Kenny Blakeman got 113th with a time of 16:50.50; Mikhail Reich got 43rd with the time of 13:33.00; and Ethan Walker got 46th with the time of 13:48.50.

In the Varsity race, Lilly Barnum showed up for her first Cross meet and ran a time of 34:29.40; Katelynn Blakeman ran a respectable 12th place with a time of 27:20.10; and Mallory Jones ran an impressive race, winning the women's race with the time of 21:11.00, coming in two and a half minutes ahead of second place. In the Men's race, Marcus James was fun to watch as he PRd with a fourth place finish time of 19:13.70.

The Wolves will go to the Michelle Ludwig Invite in Sheridan on September 16.
