Lady Wolves sit 2-1 in Conference

The Moorcroft Lady Wolves had a great weekend, going 1-1 and is now sitting with a 11-9 record and 2-1 in our conference play.

On Friday, we faced the Wright Panthers, falling short in the fifth set, Wright 3 Moorcroft 2 (19-25. 25-19, 10-25, 25-22, 15-13). The girls played hard and worked together as a team, but Wright ended up taking charge at the end of the match.

We tried some new rotations as a team and it was fun to see the girls get out of their comfort zone and try some new positions in a game.

HayLeigh Fenner got 13 kills; Camlyn Connally, 11; Natalee Scribner, 10; Talissa Fischbach, 7; Talia Vargas, 5; and Madelyn Weeda, 2. Kyan Meek got 24 digs as the libero and Kailee Gill with 43 assists.

On Saturday, we travelled to Newcastle. We went five sets again, this time finishing it out and winning the match, Moorcroft 3 #5 Newcastle 2 (25-20, 25-21, 16-25, 23-25, 18-16). It was great for our team to bounce back the next day and get a conference game win on the road.

Camlyn Connally got 21 kills, along with Talissa Fischbach with 11, HayLeigh Fenner with 10 kills and Natalee Scribner with 7. Playing two matches with five sets each back to back can challenge a team, not only physically, but their mental game as well.

It was great for us, as a team, to overcome our challenges from the day before and work together to get the win in a close game on the road.

We are half way through our conference play, and I am excited for the rest of our season.
