    Preliminary plans for leasing the upper baseball field at Westview Park to the Rage baseball program as their home field are moving forward following a recent meeting of Moorcroft's baseball committee and team representatives Travis and wife Devin Arney.     Moorcroft’s landfill has been closed for several months. However, the cost of the mandated cease and transfer has still to be counted. Heath Turbiville of HDR Engineering reported at a recent meeting of the council that his company had sent to the state the necessary application for 85% grant funding with the remaining 15% a loan by the town.   • Veteran transportation available in county

    Veteran's needing transportation to a VA appointment will now have a new option in Crook County. The DAV has provided a van to be used for area veterans. Although based in Sundance, it is hoped it will be available to serve veterans from across the county. The new service is available to take veterans to any VA scheduled appointment they may have and is not limited to the Ft. Meade facility.     Seasonal animal activity is prompting the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) to issue a warning regarding the ongoing threat posed by rabies, a deadly but preventable disease. Any mammal, including humans, can get rabies; in Wyoming, bats and skunks are the primary sources and can spread rabies to people and pets by bites or scratches.     Wyoming Department of Transportation northeast Wyoming maintenance crews will begin yearly paving operations on various roads in Crook, Weston, Campbell, Johnson and Sheridan counties.
