    Moorcroft Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) member Elaine Buckmiller visited Moorcroft’s council Monday night to share a new event the group plans to initiate this summer. June 4 is the tentative date for Safety Day and the chamber has already contacted several entities including the fire and ambulance departments, utilities, police, forest service and Bureau of Land Management (BLM), asking them to set up booths down town on that day.     Fern Ilene (Cordingly) Blakeman, of Sundance, Wyoming, passed away at Crook County Long Term Care on February 12, 2022. Fern was born November 5, 1934, to Vernie and Florence Cordingly in Upton, Wyoming. She was the eighth of nine children. She grew up on the family ranch just south of Upton and graduated from Upton High School. On June 16, 1952, Fern married Kenneth Blakeman of Moorcroft, Wyoming. To this union, six children were born.     Kennedy Sheehan, a senior at Moorcroft High School, will be traveling to Fort Worth, TX at the beginning of March to compete in the Hooey Jr. Patriot Rodeo. Sheehan will be competing in goat tying at the high stakes rodeo with the top goat tyers in the nation. He was born May 18, 1946 to Keith and Mary (Tolman) Harris in Lovell, WY. Ted's family moved from Lovell to Aurora, Colorado when Ted was six. Ted attended Aurora Central High School before enlisting in the Army in 1964. In the Army, Ted was a paratrooper and his was one of the first groups to parachute into Vietnam.     On Friday, Moorcroft Lady Wolves hosted the Big Horn Lady Rams. The Wolves got off to a good start in the first quarter, outscoring Big Horn, 18-4. Moorcroft was able to hold the Rams to five points in the second quarter and took a 32-9 lead into the half. The second half was similar to the first and the Lady Wolves were able to get the 60-25 victory. I thought we really did a good job on the defensive end.
