  • Burn ban now in effect

    Sarah Pridgeon|Mar 14, 2024

With fire season already underway, Crook County is now under burn restrictions. Fire Warden Charlie Harrison requested the restrictions be put in place last week, telling the county commissioners that more Wyoming acres burned in February than in the entirety of 2023. While the county has had a little moisture recently, in some places there was "barely any", he said, and temperatures are still above average. "There's no good news in the forecast," he said. While the restrictions have been put...

  • Digging up meters

    Mar 14, 2024

The last of six water meters placed a year ago to segregate individual apartments within the 12-plex on North Little Horn Avenue were removed last Thursday. About a year ago, Moorcroft's council chose to have six more meters installed in addition to the existing six to be connected when they passed an ordinance regarding billing individual tenants for utilities in town limits. This change of law has not been addressed since then and a vehicle wheel recently fell into a pit, destroying one of...

  • From the Desk of House Majority Floor Leader Chip Neiman

    Chip Neiman, Representative|Mar 14, 2024

The gavel has come down on the 67th Budget Session for the final time. So much of what I spent my energy on this legislative session involves safeguarding Wyoming conservative principles. I happily take this fight to the state Capitol because it means better lives for Wyoming families, strengthening our economy and preserving the unique way of life that makes Wyoming so exceptional. Much of that comes down to holding the line on the growth of government and spending. It seems the Legislature is...
