    The annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat Street Festival was held on Thurs., Oct. 26 at the Moorcroft Town Center. Many a ghoul, ghost, witch and even an alien put on their best hats and joined the fun as they played games and won tasty goodies and smiles.     Pine Haven's council celebrated their volunteers at a gala fundraiser Saturday evening. Eighty-five places had been set with six per table at the community center Saturday evening, but as guests continued to arrive, these table settings were rearranged to sit eight, "or more", according to Mayor Karla Brandenburg.     Pine Haven's volunteer fire auxiliary hosted their 21st annual Octoberfest fundraiser this year with numerous guests coming throughout the day on Saturday. Many items and baskets were donated for the draw; a cup is set in front of each item and those interested write their name on a piece of paper, fold it and put it in the cup to be mixed and drawn after lunch.   • NEWWA Fishing Tourney draws 39 teams

    NEWWA hosted 39 teams at their annual fall fish tournament last weekend at Keyhole State Park and Pine Haven. Local spokesperson and co-organizer Sharon Coleman said of the event, "This was the best fishing I've seen in a while for this tournament; everyone was catching fish and some of the biggest I've ever seen, we had several 30 inchers."     The North Eastern Wyoming Walleye Association (NEWWA) changed things up a bit this year by disengaging their event from the Pine Haven Days celebration. There was some concern about the effects of this departure, but, as co-organizer Sharon Coleman said afterward, "This year's fish fry was our biggest one yet!"     Competitors were in Cheyenne last weekend for the 2023 State Horseshoe Tournament. Sanctioned Wyoming Horseshoe Pitching Association members came from all over the state for the competition.
