For many years, the Moorcroft Parent Advisory Committee has hosted Treat Street at the Moorcroft Town Center. This event is fun for all ages and makes a large impact on our youth. The PAC has been struggling to find volunteers to help set up and clean up. If they cannot get enough volunteers to help, we risk losing the event as a whole. Crook County Sheriff’s Office is offering Critical Incident Response Training to any interested member of the public and is hosting sessions in each of the four municipalities. The dates for Pine Haven’s event have now been announced. Training will take place on October 27, beginning at 4 p.m. in the Pine Haven Community Center. Levi Marvin Finn, age 23 left this earth too soon on September 17, 2023 at his home in Gillette, Wyoming. Levi was born February 19, 2000 in Spearfish, South Dakota, to Eric and Virginia (Erland) Finn. Levi spent the majority of his childhood in Sundance, Wyoming, where he received most of his schooling. She passed away in Englewood, Colorado at Swedish Medical of congestive heart failure. On September 25 at approximately 8:32 p.m., the Moorcroft Police Department was dispatched to the 400 block of North Yellowstone for a report of a woman heard screaming and then two shots fired. Officers arrived on scene within two minutes and did not locate anyone in the immediate area. The North Eastern Wyoming Walleye Association (NEWWA) changed things up a bit this year by disengaging their event from the Pine Haven Days celebration. There was some concern about the effects of this departure, but, as co-organizer Sharon Coleman said afterward, "This year's fish fry was our biggest one yet!" Moorcroft FFA hosted its annual branding night. This year they offered families to brand the doors of the barn and/or three different cow hides. The Lady Wolves had a busy week of volleyball, traveling to Wright on Friday and hosting the Newcastle Dogies on Saturday.
